Implementation of AI in Healthcare

Introduction:- Preemptive Implementation of currently viable options and in future feasible innovations whether in terms of procedure  or  technology is keen to be in coherence with leading countries in respective fields. The following topic is going to cover the aspect of implementing AI in healthcare systems in urban as well as rural India coupled the corresponding challenges.

Global Statistic wrt AI in healthcare

Now let’s discuss some numerical facts available opensource for a brief spotlight in a specific field of healthcare. The ratio of doctors per 1000 people with USA, we score 2.77/1.34.  As per the National Health Resoure Repository (NHRR), in India we are having approximately 100,000 medical Labs whereas in USA the number is around 330,000 as per CLIA despite an unequivocal difference in population. However, as per Stanford HAI’s Global AI Vibrancy Tool, which ranks countries by how strong their AI ecosystem is, based on many indicators (R&D, policy / governance, economy, infrastructure, etc.), We score a decent rank in listing of countries maintaining 4th position  only beaten by superior Techno-Socio systems as USA, China and UK.

Scope for implementing AI in Healthcare

This shows the Government is very seriously mulling to roll out for shifting the entire healthcare system working schema to a more human independent ecosystem which will not only be game changer for Govt Spending but for medical research and better predication of disease probability as well as treatment through Artificial Intelligence approach by taking advantage of the huge population blessed with differences of different genetical specis predominant in this sub-continent.Global Market which is forecasted to reach around $700 billion by 2025 wrt AI in healthcare is currently placed around $30 billion and in India, it’s $1.6 billion. This dictates a larger role and scope for attaining apex nation status by the genetical dividend prevalent in India. However the fund allocation for rive years in areas such as artificial intelligence in healthcare and development of newer therapies, does not sync with the goal of probable global supremacy which is only  Rs 531 Crores as per Department of Health Research ,Union Health Ministry.

Conclusion

The more realistic and holistic vision for India as caterer and pioneer in medical fields (which in turn has the capability to turn India amongst the most advanced nation) coupled with more independence from human is not going come as a piece of cake within the decades long old sowed medical infrastructure which lacks proper vigilance and regulations which were judicially and morally required. Besides, there will always be a concern within the medico fraternity for their future in the hand of AI driven modules and machines but at the end this will not only be beneficial to the large and poor Indians who lack proper, convenient & cheap medical services but also refine the quality of services compared to currently catered by established Medical entities thus paving the way for enforcing excellence for better tomorrow and also fiscal benefit to the best provider. This requires a wholehearted handshaking among the different stakeholders like Medicos, Govt schemas, public & private investors and Tech companies for a better future not only limited to healthcare only but also to the tech giants for better possibilities smoothing the path for mutual growth resulting better services to the future generation.
